One thing Apple also made clear this week is that, in addition to these fixes, the supplemental updates include the dozens of security patches originally included in OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2, OS X Lion v10.7.5 and Security Update 2012-004. It also patches a bug that caused the DVD Player application to quit unexpectedly. It allows Safari to access secure sites when parental controls are enabled, resolves an issue that may cause certain Japanese characters to appear incorrectly in Mail, and plugs a hole that prevented systems with more than 64 GB of RAM from booting up.
It goes on top of the original OS X 10.8.2 update issued last month. OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Supplemental Update is equally recommended to customers running the latest-selling version of Apple’s Mac OS. If you installed the Mac OS X Lion v10.7.5 Update (build 11G56), Apple says the Supplemental Update is recommended. OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update, “recommended for all users running OS X Lion v10.7.5,” patches an issue that may cause Time Machine backups to a tad too long to complete, as well as a bug that prevents certain applications signed with a Developer ID from firing up. Released to the masses this week, the “supplemental” OS X Lion 10.7.5 and OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 are two important updates from Cupertino that resolve problems with core system components and processes, such as Time Machine backups, Safari, parental controls, and more. There is also an export option under File to user with other browsers too.As the week draws to a close, Mac users who didn’t get a chance to check their software updaters will be greeted by a couple of new releases from Apple that address known issues in the latest iterations of OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion. There are options in the browsers under bookmarks where you can book mark ALL opened tabs in each Window. If you are looking for webkit engine and something that gives the same cool and quite performance of Safari, there is a new browser in beta called Orion (''), its webkit based, get updates for older MacOS versions unlike Safari, and allows use of Firefox and Chrome extensions! Signup and you will receive an invitation link in some days. Most problems I have with websites are Safari and its webkit engine anyway. Things are beautiful on the other side, using FireFox ('') and Brave ('') (Chrome without Google surveillance code) both of which are open source which is so much better for you on the privacy side and they let you do much more than Safari with extensions. Guys if you don't like Safari don't use it.
